GIS Certification: The Why and How to Become a GISP

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The GIS Professional, or GISP, has become a respected and in-demand indication of your skills as a GIS professional. If you are pursuing the GISP certification, or are thinking of doing so, this session is for you.
Earning the GISP credential requires successfully completing an exam as well as a number of other application requirements.

This session will first explore the reasons that the GISP credential is worth pursuing. Second, we’ll go over in detail what is involved in completing each part of the education/experience/contribution part of the application process and how points are assigned. The Ethics portion of the application process will also be discussed. Lastly, we’ll explore the topics that you need to be familiar with for each of the knowledge areas covered by the GISP exam. The exam makeup has recently changed so if you haven’t taken it yet, you’ll want to attend.

Two sessions of this mini-workshop are offered.  The same information is covered in each.
